He
was a giant among men, in knowledge and strength
As strong as an ox… He’d tell you at length
He told many stories from his journey of life
Of laughter and sadness, of trouble and strife
But
most it was laughter, I knew of that man
A practical joker, that man with the tan
He’d plan out a joke, and catch you off guard
And fall on the floor; he’d be laughing so hard
A
big heart of gold beat deep in his chest
With a talent worth bottling, of doing the best
He’d give you his shirt to help out a mate
He wouldn’t mix words, he’d tell you it straight
He
knew motorbikes backwards, that much was true
From all the old bikes to the newest of new
From the forks to the taillights he’d fixed them all
From the biggest of cruisers, to ones that were small
But
sadly he left without saying goodbye
No hooroo, no see ya, no go dip yer eye
He left in a hurry with no time to pack
Just that grin of his face, as he walked up the track
Now
Stroudie is gone and the feeling is rotten
He’ll be sadly missed, but never forgotten
And if you’re in doubt or your heads in a spin
Just close your eyes, just remember his grin.
We'll miss ya
mate! |
