Day 8, 4th
March
 |
This
is today's trip...
The weather is great, in fact up to
33 degrees in some parts today and as well as the regular route, Keith wanted to head to Coles Bay for a look.
|
 |
The
perfect day for riding and the first stop was a convict bridge called
Spikey Bridge. Like mentioned before there are so many convict built
structures that have been preserved for all to see.
Opposite the bridge was this
glorious view of Coles Bay way over in the distance. |
|
|
A little while later there we were...
Coles Bay which was absolutely awesome. |
 |
The other
half of the bay. The non National Park area. |
 |
And the
little circle is where they were when Kevin took the photo above. |
 |
Further along
and not all that far from Launceston was this lookout that looked over the
valley that they had just ridden through. nothing but twisties through the
forests and rainforests, one after the other, so you can imagine how
boring any photos would have been...NOT!
In fact it was so good and the
twisties were so good, there was no time to waste taking photos, just
enjoy the moment.
|
 |
This is where
they stayed... Balmoral On York and if ever you're in Launceston, then you
need to stay at this place, it's awesome. It's no wonder they were
the winner of the "NATIONAL SERVICE EXCELLENCE
AWARDS for 2007 & 2008 as well as a Finalist 2009 Best Western
"Property of the Year" and Ranked no 1 in Launceston on
tripadvisor.com
Owner Trevor
Donaldson, greeted each of the riders as they arrived and as it was a warm
day, assured each of the them that the air conditioning was on in each of
their rooms, as were the lights and TV. Each persons information was
filled out and ready to go, so all you had to do was go to the room and
relax. |
 |
As the sun
went down over Launceston Marina where they ate, laughed and reflected on
the days ride. |
